Happy New Year, Happy New Year

Good morning and happy new year, readers :-D

Today is the first day of the new year 2008 (I live in a country with timezone GMT+7 - hey I have a funny story about timezone, but I'll tell about it later). Well, I see nothing special here, the sun still rises from the east. Though yesterday we had a hard rain with storm, but it stopped around midnight, seemed like it understands people's feeling that they hate to have rain when celebrating New Year Party on the street. One of advantages to have rain before the party is that the weather becomes cool and the sky looks so clear, except that the ground is full of mud and becomes slippery.

You might be surprised when I said that I never celebrated New Year with such a party. Even I use to missed the moment because I slept early and woke up just late. That's the reason why the last evening of December 31st and the dawn of January 1st are not special at all for me. However, I am not alone with this kind of attitude. My parents and my sister do the same too. Then, could I say this is a tradition in my family to celebrate New Year? ;-)

Well, actually I don't miss the moment at all. Noises come from trumpets, tambourines, fireworks, and people cheering out there always woke me up in the midnight (many thanks to them!). Then I take a couple seconds to pray, make a wish for all the goodness, happiness, health, and success to me and my family during the new year, more than we got in previous year. Amen. That's all. I am back to sleep and wake up in the morning, as usual, face the new day with routine activities. Sometimes this is boring me, so I should call a friend of mine named "creativity" to make my day ;-)

One thing I have in my head every time it comes to new year is a song of ABBA, one of my favorite musicians from the past. The title is exactly about the New Year, so is how the chorus all about. About the lyrics, well, just don't care some parts which doesn't fit to me. Let's just sing the chorus part LOL!

No more champagne
And the fireworks are through
Here we are, me and you
Feeling lost and feeling blue
It's the end of the party
And the morning seems so grey
So unlike yesterday
Now's the time for us to say...

Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbor is a friend
Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have our hopes, our will to try
If we don't we might as well lay down and die
You and I

Sometimes I see
How the brave new world arrives
And I see how it thrives
In the ashes of our lives
Oh yes, man is a fool
And he thinks he'll be okay
Dragging on, feet of clay
Never knowing he's astray
Keeps on going anyway...

Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbor is a friend
Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have our hopes, our will to try
If we don't we might as well lay down and die
You and I

Seems to me now
That the dreams we had before
Are all dead, nothing more
Than confetti on the floor
It's the end of a decade
In another ten years time
Who can say what we'll find
What lies waiting down the line
In the end of eighty-nine...

Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbor is a friend
Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have our hopes, our will to try
If we don't we might as well lay down and die
You and I

Never heard of it yet? Click here to get it, then we can sing along together ;-)

Introduction

Hello!

This page is created to be a little window of my life journey - that's what came to my head at the first time. Anyway, it could be changed anytime, depends on my mood :-p Since I am such a disorganized person - but indeed I always want to be a good one, I can hardly keep my documentations in proper way. Usually I lost them or forgot where I put them at the last time. Then came to my mind to save them online - I hope I wouldn't forget my login/password by then! :-p Also, the year 2008 is about to begin, I expect this new method would work well, a breakthrough for myself :-)

Inspired by a legendary band that's well-known with their pumpkin figures, which I am a die-hard fan of that, here I name this page as a pumpkinland. If then I use their song titles or parts of their lyrics or else in this blog, please don't think it is kind of plagiarism or something against the copyright or another dull thing I intentionally do. It is more a way for me to express how I love the band and how their music enchant me so much. I can feel the tunes flow along my veins, pulse with my heartbeat. Yeah, they are part of my life! 8-)

Not all things are here, of course. However, I shall put a small carved pumpkin at a good point, every few inches of my steps, as a remembrance for each day I passed through. Here, in my unpretentious pumpkinland, I would like to share what I experience each day, what I learn everyday. Sometimes this little lady is not that strong to face the world, but some other times she looks like very greedy to eat all pumpkins available on this planet. A typical human being, isn't it? Then a mirror is needed here to reflect, doing introspection, creating a balance. Yeah I am Libra :-D You're welcome to respond and criticize with constructive things or even just blah-blah-blah. All is appreciated.

It's okay if you don't understand what the hell it is. We are here to live don't think we're here to understand... LOL! I have just excerpted a line from the band, so don't worry :-p I still have a lot of lines like that, worse, better, meaningful, meaningless, whatsoever, which I'll bring them here later - as long as it matches with topic I am talking about. Though sometimes I am really offtopic heheh :-p

Well, well, so this is my pumpkinland!

End of speech.
